Walking football team visit success...

October 21st saw the Mature Millers go on a day trip to the National Football Museum. 35 members of the Mature Millers Association attended the trip in total. Everyone had a great day out and found the museum very interesting.

Sean Graves, Community Coach said “It was a brilliant day for all the Mature Millers members that attended the trip.

“They all thoroughly enjoyed it and they were very pleased that they got the opportunity to visit the museum.”

The Mature Millers are still running Memories of Football every Monday morning at New York Stadium from 10:00am – 12:00pm for anyone aged 50+.

Walking Football is also still running every Wednesday from 12:30pm – 2:00pm at Rotherham Leisure Complex. These sessions are open to anyone aged 50+ and there is a £2 charge for each session.

Also during this quarter, the Mature Millers walking football team travelled to chesterfield to take part in 6 games of 5-a-side football. Each game was 15 minutes long.

They had a mixture of results; won 2, drew 2 and lost 2 games.

It was a new experience for the group as they normally play indoor, but the games were played on astro-turf at the Queens’s leisure centre. Next year we will be inviting chesterfield to come and play at our venue and hope to make this a regular fixture throughout 2014.
