The graduation was held last night, Monday 16th December, for the 2013 Autumn National Citizen Service (NCS).

The NCS Graduation was held to celebrate the achievements of the young people that have completed the programme.

This Autumn 30 young people attended the Rotherham United Community Sports Trust NCS which started with a journey up to Derwentwater Youth Hostel in the Lake District. During their time in the Lake District the young people participated in activities to improve their leadership and team building skills such as Rock Climbing, Coracle Building, Canoeing, along with many more activities.

The programme continued over the weekend with some Learning in the Community. The young people were able to gain a 1st Aid Qualification through the British Red Cross, and they attended an Introduction into Sports Leaders and an Equality & Diversity Awareness Course.

Over evenings and weekends the groups moved onto planning their Social Action Projects. Group 1 are designing a Mural for REMA and group 2 are planning and delivering a themed Drop-In session at MyPlace for the YMCA.

To finish off the programme a Graduation was held at the New York Stadium. Entertainment was provided for the young people by singer Donna Ramsdale. The Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham attended the event to hand out the certificates.
