Steve Evans talks to www.themillers.co.uk...
Rotherham United manager Steve Evans said his side could have won by more after the Millers secured a 2-1 victory over Crawley Town on his return to the Broadfield Stadium.
The Millers came from behind to win thanks to goals from Kieran Agard and sub David Worrall and after the game Evans admitted that it could have been more comfortable for his side.
“I fancied us to win today,” beamed Evans.
“When Steve Evans comes to the Broadfield Stadium he usually wins. We thought we were unlucky in the last 20 minutes against Preston last week, but we took it on the chin and worked hard collectively. If we had scored in the first 20 minutes it will have helped our goal difference today, but we went behind, it was a bad goal to concede and we’ll need to look at it. After that we created a lot of chances, we didn’t stop, got the goal and in the second half we continued to work hard.”
Worrall was the Millers hero after steering a low drive into the bottom corner and Evans was pleased with the former Bury man’s contribution.
“The first goal came from our analysis of Crawley and how they defend set-pieces.,” added Evans.
“And then for the second Wozza has finished well, and to be honest he is unlucky to be out of the side.”
