Millers legend passes away...

Everyone at Rotherham United was sad to hear the news of the passing of former Millers great Tony Grealish, who lost his battle with cancer yesterday at the age of 56.

Tony played a pivotal role in the Division Four winning side of 1988/89, and featured 134 times for the club during his time at Millmoor. The tough tackling midfielder brought experience and desire to the heart of Rotherham’s midfield and became an instant hit with the supporters during his three years at the club.

His ability and passion earned him 45 caps for the Republic of Ireland, but it was his displays in the famous Millers red that will live long in the memory of people in South Yorkshire. He lists Manchester City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Leyton Orient and more amongst his former clubs.

Ahead of the game against Aldershot Town on Saturday, there will be one minute’s recognition to celebrate the life and career of this Rotherham United icon.
