Agard & Odejayi share the goals...

A strong Rotherham United Reserves side ran out comfortable 5-0 winners in a one sided game against their younger counterparts from Tranmere.

Kieran Agard scored a hat-trick with Kayode Odejayi bagging himself a brace.

It was midway through the first-half when the Millers made the breakthrough. A delightful cross from the left by Ben Pringle was nodded in by Agard who was steaming in at the far post.

The striker got his second shortly after when the Tranmere ‘keeper fumbled a Michael O’Connor shot into his path and he coolly finished from 6 yards.

Rotherham dominated for long periods of the first-half and extended their lead two minutes after the interval.

Lionel Ainsworth beat his marker and raced to the byline before whipping in a cross to the far post where Odejayi was waiting to place his header into the bottom corner.

The game’s fourth goal was almost an exact replica. Ainsworth once more burst to the byline and cut his cross back for Agard who headed past the helpless Nathan Jones in the Rovers goal.

Odejayi grabbed a fifth in the final ten minutes. He maneuvered himself into position on the edge of the 6-yard box before lashing home an unstoppable drive.

Agard almost got a sixth for the Millers as the game drew to its climax but his backheel was cleared off the line.

Millers: Warrington, Tonge, Rowe, Bradley, Travis, Ainsworth, O'Connor, Cadman, Pringle, Agard, Odejayi.
