Are you male and over 40? Are you interested in sharing your memories of football? How about learning some ICT skills while you’re at it? If so, then RUCST has got the perfect project for you!

The Memories of Football Get Reading programme, which will continue for 10 weeks, has been set up by our Heritage theme to encourage people to interact and learn new skills such as basic computer skills, numeracy and literacy skills. The sessions will also encourage people to use online newspapers and show them how to use an e-reader and many more. It will also help to develop confidence using modern day technology.

Date: Wednesday 24th April
Time: 1pm-3pm
Place: Maltby Town Council, The Edward Dunn Memorial Hall, S66 7NQ

Heritage Officer, Kathryn Wild says “Everyone has football memories that they enjoy talking about, and this programme will give them the perfect opportunity to share those memories with others.

“In a world where technology is so important for everyone in our community, we felt it was vital to involve sessions that give these older people the most basic of IT skills. This programme has been run recently and was a huge success for all the people that were involved.”

The Trust is also looking at running the same programme at Mowbray Gardens Library in the near future, so look out for more information!
