Striker impresses Millers boss with character...
Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has praised striker Kieran Agard ahead of the crunch League Two game with Aldershot Town this Saturday.Agard has netted in three consecutive games, helping the Millers to wins in them all after previously drifting in and out of the side. However, speaking exclusively to Millers Player, the manager explained the delight he had at seeing the London-born forward net against Plymouth and the celebrations that ensued.
“He’s got that in his locker has Kieran, and he missed a good chance with a header just before which made me think it wasn’t going to be his day," said Evans. "He never gave up though, he got in the box as he likes to do and then he celebrates as he always does; he’s the same if he just scores on the training ground, every goal really means the world to him.”
It was Agard’s sixth goal of the season, with four of those being the deciding strikes in games, and Evans was also quick to point out the delight it will have given the supporters.
“We saw the supporters coaches when we rolled in, and all the Millers fans were in good voice all afternoon. They stayed strong when we got under the cosh and we got the three points that everyone deserved," he added.
