Boss Steve Evans talks to Millers Player.
Boss Steve Evans has moved quickly to distance himself from a move for Southampton’s Sam Hoskins.
Hoskins completed a successful loan move with the Millers at the back end of last season, and there has been fresh speculation that a move for the youngster was on the cards.
However, when quizzed about the possibility this morning, Evans simply refuted any possibility of a move for the teenager.
“Sam Hoskins is a good player isn’t he? But that is not a move that is going to happen,” he stated to Millers Player.
Evans though did admit that a deal was in place for another striker which was later confirmed as Matt Tubbs, but following a brace for his parent club Bournemouth Evans admits that any deal is now gone.
“There won’t be any additions before the weekend, but we were very close to signing a striker – the deal was done,” he added.
“He has since scored a couple of goals so that is obviously now not going to happen. We go into the weekend with what we have then we will take a clear look at it after a meeting with the Chairman next week.”
