Assistant manager disappointed...

Rotherham United assistant manager Paul Raynor was left disappointed after seeing the Millers’ game at Accrington called off just 15 minutes prior to kick off.

“It was clear that we were going to have a problem,” said Paul Raynor. “There were a few puddles when we started the warm-up I’ve spoken to the gaffer, made him aware of what was happening, and there were lots of problem little areas on the field and in some places it wouldn’t roll at all so the referee had a difficult decision to make. We were desperate to play, the lads were fed and watered and ready to go.”

The decision followed an evening downpour in Lancashire, leaving the decision coming late, when the majority of supporters were already in the stadium.

“I’m standing here looking at the supporters, and they will be absolutely devastated. They’ve turned up in large numbers again and it’s disappointing for the manager again who wanted another game out of the way so he can get back,” added Raynor.
