Evans pleased with commitment...

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans praised his side’s commitment in the second half, believing that their effort was key in ensuring three points for the club.

“I think it was more hard work than anything else, we were far from our best today, and a bit like Miller Bear yesterday, we were a few yards short,” said Evans. “We spoke about heart, desire and spirit, and whilst we weren’t at our best, we were camped in their area although chances were at a premium we saw a good finish from a player.”

Kieran Agard’s goal was the difference midway through the second half, but it followed some fine work by Daniel Nardiello, a player who impressed Evans with his display after the break.

“I thought Nards was a different player second half. He was suddenly moving the way he can move and his creativity became a feature because the first half he was a bit pedestrian, and he wasn’t the only one. Second half though he stepped it up and he was on his knees by the end,” Steve added.
