Steve Evans previews the game against Southend United.
Steve Evans will be without playmaker Kari Arnason for the visit of Southend this weekend after he was called up to represent Iceland.Arnason, who has only just returned after a spell on the sidelines with an ankle problem, will be travelling to Albania for a World Cup qualifier which rules him out of the Millers clash with the Shrimpers.
Boss Evans now faces a dilemma as he is forced into changing his midfield, but he does welcome back striker Daniel Nardiello who missed last weekends 0-0 draw at York City with a groin problem.
“It is frustrating because it took us three weeks to get him fit after he was injured playing for Iceland, and now he is away again,” Evans told Millers Player.
“I have said it many times that he is our best player, he is so influential to what we do as a team, but I cannot moan too much because we are fortunate to have someone of his ability at this club.
“Nards played in the reserves; he worked hard, put himself around and did well. He will obviously come into contention but so do a couple of others.”
