Evans highlights two changes from Saturday...

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans was pleased with the reaction from his team for their 3-0 victory at Aldershot on Saturday, and is looking for more of the same as the Millers face Morecambe this evening.

Evans made several changes to the side that were beaten by Southend United, with one enforced change seeing Andy Warrington return in goal for the injured Scott Shearer, a move that now sees the Millers’ joint longest serving position with his destiny in his own hands.

“I said to Andy, you only have to go back to my club last season when Scott Shearer started the season. He was out, Michael Kuipers came in and stayed there for four or five months and it wasn’t because Shearer wasn’t performing, but Kuipers was outstanding. Andy has the shirt now and he knows if he performs he’ll keep the shirt. Nobody will be added before tomorrow night, and we have young Tony Thompson as well. We had a Premier League manager say we could have his third choice but he had to play. I wouldn’t feel that confident because Andy Warrington has done nothing to lose the shirt.”

Lee Frecklington was also added to the squad at the weekend after signing a one month loan from Peterborough, and Evans is hoping he can build on his start as the Millers face 14th place Morecambe.

“I said to him after the game on Saturday that I thought he had a good debut, but there was more he could give and more quality he can add to this side in the right areas. We’re looking forward to working with him and we’re very grateful to Darren Ferguson and Peterborough United who have allowed him to be here.”
