The RUCST and Clifton school produce some sporting memories from and for the ages.

The RUCST and Clifton school have been proudly running the Women in Sport programme that focused on the women within Yorkshire, which is sadly coming to an end at the start of December.

A weekly group of year 8s from Clifton school was treated to a range of different activities. The group had the pleasure to go outside the Rotherham community and watch the Sheffield Hatters Basketball team and Barnsley Ladies Rugby Union squad live in action. The group were also granted the pleasure of taking a trip down to a Rotherham United Ladies match.

But the activities didn’t stop there. The group had the opportunity to interview various players from those teams about their views on women in sport. The group even got the chance to create a DVD from the videos they got from their interviews and the sports fixtures that they filmed.

As well as a DVD, the group produced a small book about the Yorkshire women in sport. However, the kids were gifted a history lesson, because the book was aimed at the sports women of the 1930s.
