Gaffer pleased with reaction...

Steve Evans was delighted with the Millers’ 4-2 victory over Cheltenham Town, with his only disappointment being that the victory wasn’t more convincing.

The Millers went behind within a minute after Keith Lowe put the visitors ahead, but the home side responded by overturning the deficit, thanks to a double strike by Daniel Nardiello, Ben Pringle and man of the match Lee Frecklington.

““What a game. I don’t think 4-2 reflects the scoreline, and if we’d won it by seven or eight it would have reflected it better,” said Evans. “We played some super football after the worst possible start. It went a bit end to end more than I would I’d have liked towards the end, they went a bit gung-ho, but they only had the one chance which Sharps blocked, then we scored a fourth that we thoroughly deserved. What’s the word, bouncebackability.”

Two goal hero Nardiello was restored to the starting line-up by Evans who repaid the faith in him with the equalising goal, before a strike towards the end of the half.

“We went down to Dagenham last week and he wasn’t quite there. He came off the bench, but even at the start of the week he wasn’t quite there, so we had some strong words on Thursday morning and whatever I said to him I’ll say every day because he sparkled,” added the Millers boss.
