Rotherham United boss Steve Evans described the Millers’ performance as one of the worst he’s experienced as a manager after seeing the Millers beaten 5-0 at Dagenham.

“Well it’s a shambles from start to finish,” said Evans. Josh (Morris) switched off in the first five minutes when they got the goal, and from there on in it was Andy Warrington versus Dagenham. It’s as poor as we can be, but that’s taking nothing away from John Still’s team. There was a severe lack of effort, passion and commitment which we need to get into the players.”

The Millers made two changes to the side that claimed a point at Fleetwood, as Luke Rooney made his debut, and Michael O’Connor started, in place of injured duo Kari Arnason and Jamie Devitt, who were the latest players to be ruled out with injury.

“We’ve come here decimated today but that’s not an excuse. We’re not hiding behind any excuses, the passion just wasn’t there today, and that’s our responsibility as a management team to put it right,” added Evans.
