The Millers take a look at midfielder Scott Donnelly
Scott Donnelly was today's surprise inclusion in Steve Evans' squad, as the Millers kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 6-0 victory over Parkgate FC.
The former Swansea midfielder is a free agent and has been training with the Millers over the past couple of days. The 24-year-old played the second half alongside new signing David Noble in central midfield, as the Millers sealed a comfortable victory which included a brace from youngster Alec Denton.
After the game assistant manager Paul Raynor said he was pleased with the work-out, noting Donnelly's second half contribution.
"We are having a look at Scott," Raynor confirmed to Millers Player.
"He has excellent pedigree, he has been very unfortunate with injury but he has certainly got some qualities. He put in 45 minutes today and we'll sit down with the Gaffer over the next two or three days and see where we go with Scott. He put a reasonable performance in so he can be pleased with himself."
The Millers will fly-out to their pre-season training camp in Portugal today before the first friendly at the New York Stadium against Barnsley on July 21st.
