In partnership with the Unity Centre, REMA and Rotherham Council, the millers supported an older people's event at the Unity Centre targeting people from South Asian and Yemeni community. The aim of the event was to consult older people from these communities on their health and social needs.
Throughout the event Older People's Coordinator, Ryan Canadine delivered seated exercises as an introduction to a future programme. He said, 'It's a great opportunity for us as a trust to expand the groups we work with. The sessions are adaptable to meet the needs of the participants, but the main thing for us is enjoyment and social contact.'
There were many other activities including health checks and it concluded with a superb lunch for all. The event was sponsored by local businesses and the Councilors Leadership Fund.
