Steve Evans on tonight's decision to postpone the game at Meadow Lane...

Manager Steve Evans had no complaints with the decision to postpone tonight’s FA Cup second round replay at Notts County.

The match was called off at around 6.15pm by referee Darren Deadman due to a frozen pitch, and Evans agreed with the officials’ assessment that sections of the playing surface was unplayable.

“We got here and the referee has said on the basis of the players’ safety, the first 25 yards from the main stand in are hard, solid, icy and dangerous,” said Evans.

“He’s 100% right and the critique, if any, is could the decision have been made earlier.

“We’ve prepared properly and we fancied our chances just as much as they did and when you play as well as we did on Saturday you want to play again on Sunday.”

Subject to confirmation tomorrow from the football authorities the game is expected to be played a week today.

“The players were looking forward to the cup tie and we’ll just have to put it on the backburner until next Tuesday,” Evans added.
