Clubs close to sealing permanent move...
Rotherham United have taken further strides in the hope of capturing midfielder Lee Frecklington on a permanent transfer from Peterborough United.
Subject to finalisations in terms of the player and the club, the Millers are hoping to seal the move for the midfielder later in the week.
“The Chairman and Barry Fry are two of the best negotiators you could wish to meet,” said manager Steve Evans. “They’re working hard, but we’ll get the game out of the way tomorrow and the powers that be will sit back down and agree something. Approaching Christmas, one day I was confident, the next not so much, but now I think things are looking good.”
It’s believed that the Millers are within touching distance of agreeing a fee for the player, but there are finalisations to be made to the player’s deal and the fee to paid to the Posh. However, Evans is holding off further negotiations until after the clash with Rochdale tomorrow.
“It’s not (done). There’s terms to be agreed by Lee once the fee is set in stone but it’s not right to do that until the terms with the club are sealed. What I do know is that nothing will happen before we go to Rochdale, but after that we’ll set the wheels in motion to make Lee a Miller! He’s been down in recent weeks, his performances haven’t quite been there but he’s a young lad pondering his future and I love him to bits so we’ll get him back on top of his game.”
