South Yorkshire Police in partnership with Rotherham United CommunitySports Trust, South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue with the support of Children
in Need are holding an free family open day on Saturday 15th December at the Lifewise Centre, Hellaby in Rotherham between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
Project Officer, Andy Foster from South Yorkshire Police said:
“ The Lifewise Centre and Rotherham United Community Sports Trust want to encourage families and their children to come and visit this unique facility so we came up with the idea of this free event. Partners will be on hand to offer advice on a number of subjects including Home and Fire Safety, basic computer skills and crime prevention to name but a few”
Rotherham United Community Sports Trust will be running various sporting activities and carry out free health checks, at the event will be a face painter, officers from the police firearms support group a fire engine and the opportunity to win four tickets to an RUFC game, a signed shirt and football and other prizes in a raffle.

Rotherham Community Transport has agreed to support the event by offering a fixed return fare of £3.00 from Water Street in Rotherham Town Centre.
