Steve Evans talks to www.themillers.co.uk...
Manager Steve Evans has put yesterdays Boxing Day defeat to Port Vale behind him and is looking ahead to Saturday's encounter with Accrington Stanley.Evans spoke to the gathered press this morning at the club training ground at Parkgate, stating he side lacked quality in the final third, but when pressed refused to speak about the referee, after his side failed to close the gap on the automatic promotion places.
I don't think we quite did enough to earn the three points in terms of quality in the final third of the pitch, but we certainly didn't deserve to lose the match, said Evans.
I don't really want to speak about the referee, I am not blaming him for the result, but in terms of decisions I don't really want to make further comment.
The game is behind us now, we have been on the training ground today, we have regrouped and all our focus is now on the game with Accrington.
A positive for Evans is that his players have come through the game unscathed and he will have a full squad to choose from, minus the long-term injury victims Lionel Ainsworth and Craig Morgan.
We have come through the game fine, which is good news, added Evans.
