The Rotherham United Education Academy is still recruiting for their NEW 2012/2013 sports course. Having already signed up potential learners they are now looking to extend the recruitment drive and open up the opportunity for young people who have an interest in sport and sports coaching to get involved.
The course is part of the recent collaboration with Rotherham College of Arts and Technology (RCAT) who have partnered up with the Community Sports Trust to help the Education Academy deliver sport related courses within a professional environment. On the course you will learn all about the leisure industry, sports leadership and how to develop your skills as a sports coach whilst developing your skills in communication, motivation, time management and team work.
“This partnership with the college gives us a great opportunity to deliver a sports course which gives the learner all the benefits of being a RCAT student with the added benefits of learning at a professional Football Club, which will be a very influential factor in the learners motivation. This gives the learners an opportunity to gain ‘hands on’ learning through volunteering within a variety of sporting activities across a wide variety of participants within the Rotherham community. This is a brand new concept for us and I am really excited about the course and the future of the partnership.” Mark Wilkinson – Education Officer
As mentioned above the learners will enroll as a RCAT student, gain bus passes (where applicable), be able to use all their facilities and gain all the student benefits of being an RCAT student but with the added bonus of learning within a professional football club environment.
Register now for a September 2012 start!!
