Meet the Millers proves a success...
All the new players, a few familiar ones and one or two making a welcome return greeted hundreds of fans during a very successful and enjoyable “Meet the Millermen” event at Parkgate Shopping.
Head of Community Jamie Noble said of the event, "It's been a fantastic day for all involved; the fans have shown great support for The Millers and it was a good opportunity to show our appreciation, the players are a key part to the Community team and I would like to thank all who got involved, Steve Evans and Paul Raynor have also been great for the community since joining the club”
Parkgate is one of the club’s main sponsors, and Operations Manager Billy Smith, was delighted with the response to this eve of season event.
“The crowd that came along included fans of all ages,” he added, “and it really shows the level of support in the town that a new manager, a new ground and many new players are having.”
The players were kept busy signing autographs and posing for photographs with the fans. Members of the Community Sports Trust were meanwhile kept busy testing the skills of the many youngsters present.
“The team have performed very well in pre-season matches, and with the return to the town, some exciting new players and this kind of support we are looking forward to a successful campaign,” remarked Billy.
