Boss Steve Evans talks to Millers Player ahead of the transfer window...

Boss Steve Evans today confirmed he is awaiting a response on a loan offer for Bournemouth striker Matthew Tubbs.

Rumours in the south that an offer for Tubbs had been lodged were confirmed by Evans this morning, and he has since confirmed that a loan bid has also been submitted with a response imminent ahead of the closure of the transfer window tomorrow.

“I have had a chat with the Bournemouth chairman, I asked him what the weather was like in Bournemouth, he asked me what the weather was like in Rotherham and we agreed to speak again tomorrow,” Evans joked to Millers Player.

“We tried to buy Matthew in the early part of the summer but Bournemouth made it quite clear that he had a part to play with them. I believe that is still the case, whether something can be done on a loan basis, we are waiting for a call back from Mr. Mitchell (Bournemouth Chairman).”
