Steve Evans asks supporters to vote for the new Rotherham United captain...

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has asked the fans to help him select the Millers captain for the upcoming season.

Evans has narrowed his search down to four outstanding candidates as he looks to name his leader in time for the big kick off against Burton Albion.

Fans can nominate their chosen player by emailing media@rotherhamunited.net, with manager Steve Evans revealing today that the fans nomination will make up 50% of the overall decision.

“I am fortunate to have four exceptionally good candidates to choose from, and it is extremely important that we make the correct call,” Evans told www.themillers.co.uk

“As I said a few weeks ago I want our supporters and my players and staff to have an input into this but I obviously have certain characteristics and thoughts on who I believe it should be, I am sure.

“I have given several players the Captains armband in pre-season but I told the players I would ultimately select the man for the job prior to the opening league fixture at home to Burton Albion next Saturday.”

The four candidates are:

1. Johnny Mullins

2. Ian Sharps

3. Nicky Hunt

4. Kari Arnason

An announcement will be made at 6pm tomorrow evening.
