Rotherham United travel to Northampton Town this evening looking to preserve their unbeaten start to the league season, following Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Burton Albion.
Manager Steve Evans confirmed yesterday to Millers Player that he expects defender Johnny Mullins, who was forced off during the victory at the weekend, to be fit for tonight’s trip to Sixfields.
““We are expecting Johnny to be fit,” confirmed Evans.
“We are grateful that it isn’t a nasty one because at one stage we thought he might have tweaked his ligaments in his knee, but thankfully it seems to be a lot less than that.”
Looking ahead to tonight’s encounter, Evans expects another tough game against a side that he expects to be challenging for promotion this season.
“They have made some good signings like the lad Platt and big Dave Artell who is an outstanding player at this level,” he added.
“We know the physicality that we will face and how difficult it will be but we go there in good spirits and we’ll try and win.
“Out of our opening 10 games I see as many as seven teams who I think will be in the top seven at the end of the season. I don’t see another club who has as difficult a start as what we have to face."
