Rotherham United bagged a welcome victory in the Youth Alliance League after a 2-0 victory at Scunthorpe United
Two second half goals secured the Millers their first win of 2019 following strikes by Tyrone Lewthwaite and Robbie Gateshill.
The Millers had to defend well in the first-half, but took full control of proceedings after the break. Harrison Beeden came close to an opener 15 minutes into the second half but planted his header over.
The visitors had a let-off when Scunthorpe rattled the crossbar, but the Millers took the lead soon after. Lewthwaite showed great composure to collect possession on the edge of the area before curling an impressive effort into the corner.
The Millers soon doubled their advantage when a quick turn of play from back to front allowed Gateskill to finish, which effectively saw off the efforts of the home side.
Rotherham: Farrar; Spence, Southern-Cooper, Hull, Beeden; Wenham, Carlton, Peel-Evans, Gateshill; Gratton, Lewthwaite.
