Rotherham United have launched a service for supporters to help the club improve the AESSEAL New York Stadium experience.

We are asking our supporters to send in their suggestions to help the Millers make improvements across the club.

Directions from the South

- M1 Junction 33, take 3rd exit signed A630 Rotherham

- 1st Roundabout (Junction with A631) at roundabout take 1st exit

- 2nd Roundabout - A630 (Canklow Roundabout) take 2nd exit

- 3rd Roundabout - A630 (Ickles Roundabout) take 2nd exit

- After the first set of traffic lights move into the right hand filter lane and you will then come back on yourself and take the first left onto Main Street.

- Turn right onto Don Street after the council offices, and the AESSEAL New York Stadium is your second right.

Directions from the North

- M1 Junction 35 leave motorway, take 1st exit signed A629 (Upper Wortley Road)

- 1st Roundabout - take 2nd exit (A629)

- 2nd Roundabout - take 2nd exit (A629)

- 3rd Roundabout (College Rd / B&Q Roundabout) take the 4th exit

- After the first set of traffic lights take the first exit onto Main Street

- Turn right onto Don Street after the council offices, and the AESSEAL New York Stadium is your second right.

Supporters are reminded that there is a £2 increase in ticket prices for fans buying on the day. For Saturday afternoon matches pre-match prices apply up to 12:00pm on the day of the match and for an evening game pre-match prices apply until 5:00pm on the day of the match.

To avoid an unnecessary queuing we advise fans to purchase their tickets in advance. For those buying on a matchday tickets can be bought from the ticket office windows and also from the Red and White Shop. Card payments are accepted on matchdays, from the ticket windows and inside the Red & White Shop. Please note that for certain fixtures the club implement different sale strategies. For example some fixtures may only be on sale to supporters with a previous purchase history with Rotherham United.

There will be no public parking at the stadium on the day of a match for either home or away fans. Please take this into consideration when arriving by car for a game. There is an NCP Car Park in the town centre, and a pay and display car park located on Sheffield Road, both within 10 minutes walk to the stadium.

We can also recommend the car park located on the old Liquid Nightclub which can be found on the end of Main Street near the New York Crossroads.

Only pre-arranged spaces in the car park will be reserved for travelling press, directors and staff.

Fans can also find off-site parking provided by JustPark within a short walk of AESSEAL New York Stadium which can be booked online here.

The main Rotherham Bus and Train stations are both within 10 minutes walking time of the stadium. We would recommend this as a travel options for fans where possible. Once exiting the bus/train station there is ample pedestrian signage to direct you to the stadium.

 

AESSEAL New York Stadium opened its doors for the first time for a pre-season friendly between Rotherham United and Barnsley, which was won 2-1 by the Millers after being behind early on. The first league game saw the Millers beat Burton Albion 3-0 to kick off their promotion-winning 2012/13 season.

The Stands

Ben Bennett Family East Stand

This stand is ideal for anyone visiting the ground with young children and families and has been specifically designed with their needs in mind. This stand is directly opposite the main stand and offers fantastic views of the match and it is a great place to see what’s going on in the dug outs which are directly opposite. This stand also has a zero tolerance rule on bad behaviour and aggressive behavior in order to make it a great place for families to watch the match and has been designed as such following the guidelines set out in the “Enjoy the Match” Football League campaign. In addition to all this it is also where Miller Bear will be entertaining the crowd during the game. It’s also the only stand in the ground where anyone under 8 years old go for a reduced price, if accompanied by a full paying adult or senior. There are now four extra matchday kiosks on the outside/inside of the stand in full operation to help reduce queuing inside the concourse.

KCM Recycling North Stand

This stand is specifically aimed at attracting our most enthusiastic and vocal fans who like to sing and generally make as much noise as possible behind the goal.

Eric Twigg and Pukka Pies West Stand

This is the main stand of the ground and where you’ll find the main reception, club shop and home ticket office. It’s also where you’re likely to see the players and management team entering the ground. It also has arguably the best views of the pitch and is where the Chairman and other club directors sit.

Mears South Stand

This stand is mainly used for away supporters directly opposite the KCM Recycling North Stand and is where the away ticket office is located. During some fixtures throughout the season where the home demand exceeds away, this stand may then be segregated to accommodate more home supporters into the stadium.

Events

AESSEAL New York Stadium is host to a variety of events, ranging from wedding fayres to after dinner speaking by some of the biggest names in sport and entertainment. AESSEAL New York Stadium has hosted Frank Bruno, Ray Parlour, Sugar Ray Leonard, Lee Sharpe, Dean Saunders, Matt Le Tissier and much more. Comedian Billy Pearce includes New York as one of the dates on his nationwide tour, whilst it is hosting birthday parties, weddings and a real ale festival.

Ben Bennett Jnr, a long serving partner of Rotherham United sponsors the East Stand at AESSEAL New York Stadium, offering supporters the chance to make watching the Millers a family event.

Under 8s go for a reduced price in the Ben Bennett Jnr East Stand when accompanied by a full paying adult, and as a designated 'Enjoy the Match' family area, measures are in place to make it the perfect place to sit if you’re visiting with children.

Prices for this stand are as follows (figures in brackets indicate the price if purchased on the day of the game).

Concessions: £16 (£18)

Juvenile 13 – 17: £10 (£11)

Junior 8 – 12: £8 (£9)

Under 8: £3 (£3)

 

*The under 8 price applies to the Ben Bennett Family Stand only and under 8s must be accompanied by a full paying adult/concession

Concession prices are for students in full-time education, over 60s, HM Forces and those on higher rate DLA or equivalent. Proof will be required for all age-related concessions.

In some instances, when purchasing tickets from the Red & White Shop, proof of age or proof of eligibility will be required, for example when purchasing concessions in the form of senior, young adult (18-21), disabled, armed forces or students.

Although proof has been shown at the point of sale, it is advisable to carry some form of proof on match day in case of doubt at the turnstile. This will ensure that you are not delayed and do not miss kick off. Your help in this matter is much appreciated

 

Rotherham United Community Sports Trust will be throwing open the doors to the Goal Zone Centre for every home matchday at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The new facility will be free to enter to supporters who are season ticket holders or have purchased tickets for the match, with pre-match entertainment provided for kids who are arriving early for the game.

The centre, which is situated next to the Players’ Entrance in the main West Stand, includes an Xbox console, table tennis table, a reaction wall, indoor games plus TV screens of the early kick off for young fans to enjoy before the main event of watching the Millers.

The centre is open Saturday matchdays from 1pm, but children attending must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Our mascot is Miller Bear and you will find him in the north west corner of the ground during the game, and around the outside of the stadium pre-match. Here he lists some top tips for enjoying the match.

“In order to make the most of your trip to AESSEAL New York Stadium, I have come up with some handy tips to ensure you enjoy the match.

• Buy your tickets in advance of the day of the match. That way you’ll get to pick your ideal seats and you’ll save money on the matchday price.
• Try and arrive at the ground at least half an hour before the match; this will allow you to enjoy the pre-match entertainment and queuing times down to a minimum.
• Visit our website to find the answers to any specific questions or queries you might have about visiting AESSEAL New York Stadium, such as directions and parking.
• If you’re coming as a family or with young children we’d recommend the Ben Bennett Family East Stand as that’s where I’ll be entertaining the crowd. Also if you’re under 8 years old you’ll get to come to the game for just £2.
• Keep an eye out for me. I’ll be outside the ground before the game, and then in front of the Ben Bennett family stand during the match.”

There are a number of food outlets located inside the concourses of the stadium, including everybody’s favourite, the Pukka Pie, along with plenty of other hot and cold refreshments. The club have also successfully opened two matchday kiosks on the exterior of the Ben Bennett East Family Stand to help with queue management.

Rotherham United have employed a host of volunteers who will be on hand to help with any matchday queries. The Millers ‘Here to Help’ volunteers will be stationed around the AESSEAL New York Stadium to help with any questions you may have. Ideal for supporters who are attending a match for the first time, the ‘Here to Help’ team will be visible at the main approach to the stadium from New York Way and Don Street and will endeavour to help as much as possible with any queries you may have.

Look out on matchdays for our Random Act of Kindness when we offer lucky supporters free behind the scenes access with Rotherham United. Some examples of our random acts include offering supporters the chance to watch the warm up in the company of our coaching staff at pitch level, meeting the manager prior to the game and on the spot free tickets and prizes.

Look out on matchdays for Rotherham United players not featuring the side. Members of our playing squad will be out and about around the Ben Bennett Family Stand around 45-30 minutes before kick off to meet fans and sign autographs.

Commentary for blind/partially sighted supporters

The club provide commentary for blind or partially sighted supporters. The headsets are required to be booked 24 hours in advance of the fixture by emailing dlo@rotherhamunited.net

A deposit will be required for the head set on the day of the match. They can be collected from the main reception.

Disabled Supporters' Room

Rotherham United are delighted to inform supporters that we have now implemented a new Disabled Supporters’ Room on-site at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The room which will be located on the ground floor of the Community Trust area of the stadium, next to the players entrance.

Use of the room will mean that can provide our disabled supporters with a warm and comfortable environment in which to enjoy the build-up to matches at AESSEAL New York Stadium and will be open aroudn an hour from kick off.

Rotherham United’s traditional colours are red shirts with white sleeves, white shorts and red socks.

When the Millers play away from home they have the option of wearing an all-black kit.

Our alternate kit, should it be required, is lavender and white.
