Rotherham United's season ticket sales have now surpassed the 1,500 mark ahead of the new 2009/2010 season.

After a surge of sales over the last two days ticket sales are now ahead of the last years total and the club are expecting more to follow.

Sales Manager Mark Hitchens said:

"We are very pleased with the number of season tickets sold so far and I am confident that we can exceed last season's overall total. The ticket office has been very busy, especially over the last week, as more supporters are coming in to buy tickets at the discounted rate."

Hitchens continued: "For any supporter who has yet to renew or purchase their season ticket they can still receive a discount if they purchase their seat before Friday 17th July."

Chief Operating Officer Paul Douglas added:

"Season ticket sales are going very well at present but it is important that we keep sales moving. With the progress made last year and the new arrivals in the close season it promises to be a very exciting season ahead. We want as many Millers' fans as possible to get behind the team and we feel we that with the discounts that are still available we are offering very good value for money."
