Rotherham United Reserves got their totesport.com League Central Division campaign off to a flyer with a 5-0 hammering of Bradford City at Plumpton Park.
The Millers fielded a strong side that included first team regulars Marcus Marshall and Paul Warne.
Alec Denton opened the scoring on the half-hour mark. Marshall's run into the box was halted, but the ball broke to Denton who finished smartly from just inside the area.
The lead was doubled just before half time by Luke Ashworth. Denton was again involved, as he shot from Jamie Green's cross. Chris Elliott made the save, but Ashworth was on hand it make it 2-0.
Marshall then scored the best goal of the game on the hour to put the game beyond doubt. He picked the ball up in a wide position, before cutting inside past two defenders and finishing well from inside the area.
Warne added a fourth two minutes later when he converted from six yards, before Ollie Banks completed the rout with an unstoppable effort from just outside the area.
