Nick is an experienced defender who signed for the Millers in August 2008.

He started his career as a trainee with Manchester City and made 20 appearances in all competitions for City in just over four years at Maine Road.

Nick was loaned out on a regular basis whilst at City and he played in a handful of games for Bournemouth and Notts County before moving permanently to Meadow Lane for £150,000 in November 2000.

Nick became a regular for County and in a spell of just under four years he made 169 appearances, scoring 11 goals. In 2004 he signed for Doncaster on a free transfer and in a two year stint he played over 50 games but Nick moved on in 2006 to sign for Grimsby Town.

He moved to Don Valley after a successful time at Blundell Park which saw Nick play in the 2008 Johnstone's Paint Trophy final but the Mariners were beaten on the day by MK Dons. In his first season with the Millers Nick made over 50 appearances in all competitions, forming a successful partnership alongside Ian Sharps.

Nick was a regular fixture again last season and was also used to great effect as an emergency right-back following injuries to Dale Tonge and Mark Lynch.
