Nicky moved to Don Valley in the summer of 2009 after leaving Championship outfit Sheffield United.
The midfielder made his debut for the Blades in a League Cup game at Reading but started his first league match in the Premier League at home to Manchester United.
Nicky enjoyed a loan spell at Yeovil in 2007 and also had two spells on loan at Bradford City where he impressed for the Bantams.
As a result Nicky made the short trip to Don Valley where he began the season in fine form which included a goal in the 3-0 win over Barnet in September.
He scored a crucial last minute winner in the league game at Port Vale and finished the campaign by being voted in the PFA League Two Team of the Season.
