Adam signed from Rochdale in August 2009 for an undisclosed fee.
He started his career at Stockport but after a successful loan spell at Spotland he signed for Dale in 2007.
A proven goalscorer at this level Adam followed up 21 goals in his final season at Rochdale with 30 in his first campaign for the Millers.
He netted in both play-off semi-final games against Aldershot and carried that form into last season scoring in the opening day win over Lincoln, and then netting four times in the 6-4 home victory over Cheltenham.
After a mini-drought mid-way though last season he ended the campaign strongly with 24 goals to his name in all competitions.
