Ian is a tall powerful central defender who has been a mainstay of the Millers defence. He joined the club from Tranmere Rovers in August 2006 and was made Captain in his first season, going on to make 38 league appearances. He scored his first Millers goal in a 3-2 win at Leyton Orient and formed a strong defensive partnership alongside Pablo Mills. Ian was one of few survivors of the 2006/07 team that was relegated to League Two, and he showed why he was kept on with several solid and consistent performances. Last season was arguably his best yet and he was awarded the 'Player of the Year' trophy whilst also being named as Club Captain for the 2009/2010 campaign.
