Millers manager Mark Robins is expecting a tough challenge when Rotherham make the trip to Lancashire to face Bury tomorrow evening.
The Shakers are now managed by former Millers boss Alan Knill and despite Bury's lowly position in League Two his appointment has had an impact in recent games:
"Bury's results have picked up of late and they had a good win on Saturday, said Robins.
"Earlier on in the season when Chris Casper was in charge there they went on a brilliant run of form so we know that they are a very capable team and it will be a really tough challenge. We are at Gigg Lane for an evening game so we know that the atmosphere is going to be good and hopefully we can get that elusive win."
This will be the Millers first trip to Gigg Lane since January 2001 and on that occasion the game finished 0-0. Rotherham have met Bury on very few occasions over recent years and you have to go back to November 1989 for the last win at Gigg Lane when the Millers won 2-1 in an FA Cup First Round replay. Since the FA Cup triumph nearly 19 years ago Rotherham have visited Gigg Lane on three occasions losing 3-1 twice and drawing 0-0 once.
The Shakers go into tomorrow's game on the back of two straight wins over Brentford and Morecambe which has moved them up to 19th in League Two. Bury have struggled in front of their home supporters this season and have only picked up four wins at Gigg Lane with Saturday's win over Morecambe being their first at home since November. Bury's home form is currently only the 18th best in League Two. In attack the Shakers boast one of the league's top marksmen with Andy Bishop finding the net 21 times in all competitions so far this season.
Millers 'keeper Andy Warrington will be making his first return to one of his former clubs tomorrow evening after his release from Bury at the end of last season. Warrington was signed initially on loan for the Shakers but made the move permanent soon after and in total he played 21 games in all competitions. Another former Bury player in the Millers ranks is Ian Ross. Ross had a loan spell at Gigg Lane in 2002 when he was at Sheffield United and in total he made seven appearances in his two month loan spell.
