ALAN AINSCOW

Born: Orrell, 1 October, 1968

Career: Wigan Athletic 10/86; Rotherham United 8/89

A striker who must claim to have had one of the briefest playing records with Rotherham United with his only appearance coming as substitute in a Division Two game at Notts County on 23rd September 1989- when he played for the last 35 minutes.

CARL AIREY

Born: Wakefield, 6 February, 1965

Striker Carl's one-season Rotherham career was sandwiched between two spells in Belgium but his ratio of goals per game was quite good.

The highlight of his time at Millmoor was undoubtedly his four goal haul in a 5-2 home win against Chester City in Division Three on August 31st, 1987. The last three came inside a second half spell of nine minutes including two from the penalty spot.

IAN ALEXANDER

Born: Glasgow, 26 January 1963

Career: Rotherham United 10/81;Pezoporikos Larnaca, Cyprus; Bristol Rovers 8/86

Hailed as a future Scotland international when signed by manager Emlyn Hughes, Ian came as a centre forward but failed to make an impact. It was only when he switched to right back that he found his best position and he played almost 300 games in that position for Bristol Rovers.
