Marcus Marshall has joined fellow League Two side Macclesfield Town on a one-month emergency loan.
Marshall, 22, has been mainly on the periphery of the Millers starting 11 this season, making a total of 17 appearances in all competitions.
"Marcus had his ankle injury over Christmas and it has been stop/start for him this season," manager Andy Scott told www.themillers.co.uk.
"We need him to get out and get some games to establish whether he will be a force for this club, and we need him to get some competitive games to do that. He hasn't taken the chances he has had with us at the moment, so this is a good opportunity for him to get some games elsewhere and for him to learn what is required to get into our first team. With Kieran (Cadogan) coming in this will obviously restrict his chances here so it was a good deal for everybody."
Marshall signed for the Millers in January 2010 initially on loan from Blackburn Rovers, before making the move permanent in the summer.
