Experience is vital, says new 'keeper

Posted on: Thu 04 Feb 2010

With an injury to Millers goalkeeper Jamie Annerson, manager Ronnie Moore was quick to swoop on deadline day to bring in Burnley goalkeeper Jonathan Lund.

Lund, who has joined for a month, is looking forward to gaining some experience around the first team, something he has been limited to whilst at Burnley.

He said: "Brian Laws was happy for me to come here, to progress as a player. It's going to be a good challenge for me and I'm really looking forward to it. Even though I'm not expecting to go straight into the team, I'm really excited about being on the bench and being involved on a matchday."

After progressing through the youth team at Leeds United, the goalkeeper is looking forward to working alongside the Millers first choice, Andy Warrington.

"I'm only young and still learning, so it's good to be playing alongside such an experienced 'keeper. I watch all the goalkeepers I play alongside, and like to take what I can from them. There's a great bunch of lads here, so it should be an enjoyable month, and hopefully I can learn a lot." Lund added.
