Defender all set to reach milestone
Rotherham United defender Ian Sharps will make his 100th appearance for the Millers this Saturday should he be selected for the FA Cup clash against Aldershot Town.
Sharps made his Millers debut against Brighton and Hove Albion on the opening game of the 2006/2007 season and has since go on to be a regular in the starting eleven:
"To make 100 career appearances for Rotherham United and also nearly 300 career appearances in total is something that I am really proud of, said Sharps after Tuesday's cup win over Leicester City.
"There have been a few good moments in my Rotherham career and tonight's victory over Leicester is another highlight."
In a big month of cup action the Millers face Aldershot in the FA Cup tomorrow followed by a visit to Stoke City in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night and Sharps is looking forward to the challenge ahead:
"Aldershot will be another tough game on Saturday but I am sure that we can go there and get the right result, he said.
"Stoke are a Premier League side so they have quality all over the pitch and a powerful long throw. I have watched them a couple of times on television this season and they have pace and skill all the field, so it will be a real test for us"
