Jamie Green

Posted on: Wed 20 Feb 2008

Despite Rotherham United's defeat to Wycombe on Saturday it turned into a day to remember for Millers youngster Jamie Green.

Green came off the substitutes bench 30 minutes from time to make his first team debut for the club coping admirably with the step up in class, and he revealed his delight at being involved at first team level:

"It was great to play. I thought that I might be nervous with it being my first time on the bench and I did not expect to get on. When I did get on I managed to block out the crowd and it felt great. I would like to thank the gaffer for giving me the opportunity."

Green has been a regular in the Millers reserve side and found that the standard of football a lot different to what he has been used to:

"The game is a lot faster and your decision making has to be a lot quicker but I really enjoyed it and it was just great to play."

Green will be again in contention for a place in the side when the Millers entertain Lincoln City at Millmoor on Saturday.
