Harold

Harold Mosby passed away on Friday 15th June after a long battle with cancer. As well as a former Millers player he was a regular member of the Rotherham United Nostalgic society and enjoyed himself greatly meeting Rotherham's old and new players alike, He leaves behind daughter-in-law Alyson and grandsons Daniel and Lewis, all Rotherham United supporters. The Club will be sending a representative to Harold's funeral, which will take place on Friday 22nd June at Rotherham crematorium at 3.00pm.

Harold was spotted by a Rotherham scout and was signed for Rotherham United for the start of the 1947 season. Harold had a run of 13 consecutive games in his first season and scored 5 goals for a team that finished as runners up in Division Three (North) twice. He only played a further 13 games for Rotherham's first team, scoring 4 goals, as he could not hold down a first team place but played numerous games for the reserves. During his time at Rotherham he met and married his wife Mavis and settled down to live in the town.
