Rotherham United are making a strong appeal to all supporters not to invade the pitch at the final whistle of the home game against Cheltenham Town at Millmoor on Saturday.
It has invariably been the custom on such occasions but the club are stressing that this is not to be repeated this season in the interests of safety. The club are anxious that no one suffers any injury should spectators run onto the pitch and this possibility will be prevented if the supporters remain in their seats at the end of the game.
Supporters are reminded that it is a criminal offence to go on the pitch, CCTV and Police cameras will be in operation and action will be taken against those who break this rule. If the supporters comply with this request then manager Mark Robins will allow the players to return to the pitch to extend their thanks for the fine support they have been given all season.
