Accrington Stanley's manager John Coleman kept the same starting line up from the team that beat Darlington 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Rotherham made a bright start and enjoyed plenty of early possession with some good link up play displayed by Ryan Taylor and Dale Tonge.

Accrington's first chance came when Craig Lindfield was left open in the penalty area but his shot was high and wide, causing no problem for Andy Warrington.

The Millers best chance of the half fell to Reuben Reid when he struck an effort from 15 yards out forcing Arthur to make a crucial save, and tip the ball over the bar.

Jamie Green was forced off with what looked like a leg injury and he was replaced by Marc Joseph and the visitors came close to a breakthrough soon after, when John Miles hit a thunderbolt strike at goal, which required Warrington to mirror Arthurs save and tip over the bar.

An early second half free kick for Accrington caused the Millers problems as they failed to clear, leaving Lindfield completely unmarked six yards out but he sliced the ball wide much to the relief of the Millers.

Minutes later and Ryan Taylor had the chance to take the lead for the Millers after a great left footed strike 10 yards out but he dragged his shot inches wide.

The second half however was already proving to be better than the first, with both teams looking much brighter and eager to get the first goal.

With 15 minutes to go it seemed Accrington may have been happy to walk away with a point as they began to sit back and defend to try and prevent a Millers goal.

A 75th minute free kick by Ryan Taylor looked like it was heading for the back of the net, but Arthur managed to get a fist to the shot and somehow punched it away.

With a goal on the cards the Millers continued to press forward in the hope of finding that crucial opening. With five minutes to go it looked like they could have found it when Accrington were caught on the break but Ryan Taylor's shot flashed just wide.
