Ronnie Moore was again pleased with another competitive pre-season work out despite a 2-0 defeat against Sheffield United at Don Valley Stadium.
The match was close throughout but the Blades nicked it with two late goals from Johnny Ertl and a penalty by Daniel Bogdanovic.
"I thought it was a good workout, different type of game from the Leicester fixture," said Ronnie in his post match press conference.
"It was a much more physical game than the Leicester match but we just got a little sloppy at times, especially on the two goals that we conceded. The most important thing is the fitness and trying to get the lads sharp and ready for the Lincoln game."
The Millers were missing striker Tom Elliott with a slight knock and the lack of goal mouth action was apparent to Ronnie, who confirmed he is still looking to bolster his attack before the season starts.
"I don't think that there was two goals difference between the two sides," he added.
"I think that today showed that we are short in front of goal at the moment and that is why it is important that we try and get a striker on board because Tom was missing today and he would have caused them one or two problems with his strength and pace. We are still looking but we are not close to getting anyone at the moment. We could get a kid from the Premier League but I think that what we need is someone with a little bit of experience but it is difficult. We will keep knocking on doors and sooner or later one will open."
