Ronnie pleased with workout

Posted on: Wed 21 Jul 2010

Ronnie Moore was very pleased with the Millers first pre-season workout despite a floodlight failure bring a premature end to proceedings.

The Millers trailed Championship outfit Leicester City 2-1 when with just 10 minutes remaining the lights went out but overall Ronnie was pleased with the display.

"It was a fantastic workout," he said after the game.

"Once we got to grips with the game we created some good chances which was nice to see, so I was very pleased. The system that Leicester play makes it difficult, they like to push the full-backs forward but we had some good chances ourselves. Danny has broke through twice in the second half and on another day he scores. All the new lads have acquitted themselves well so that was pleasing, it's just a shame that the game ended a little prematurely when the lights went out."

Adam Le Fondre netted for the Millers with a penalty which cancelled out Paul Gallagher's early strike before DJ Campbell put the Foxes back in front in the second half. Le Fondre looked in good touch in attack and worked well with new boy Tom Elliott.

"Sometimes it can work out like it did," Ronnie said about the partnership.

"Tom is still raw, he is only 19, but he has bags of pace which you saw in the build up to the penalty, that is something we didn't see last year."

Finally Ronnie reported no injuries from the game with a trip to Dinnington Town looming tomorrow evening at Pheonix Park.

"We are fine after the game. The lads have all come back and are in good condition and we are all looking forward to the rest of the games."
