Ronnie Moore was philosophical about his team's performance with the Millers spurning good first half chances in the 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury Town.
Adam Le Fondre opened the scoring from the penalty spot but the Millers couldn't capitalise missing several chances before Steve Leslie grabbed an equaliser for the visitors.
"It was a tough game there is no doubt about that," said Ronnie.
"We opened up as bright as we have been for a long time. We had a purple patch for the first 25 minutes but we conceded against the run of play. We should have been out of sight with the chances that we had but we can't seem to kill teams off. We gave them a lifeline just before half time which was disappointing but in the second half, give credit to them they have made our 'keeper make one or two good saves."
The Millers manager was a little unhappy with his sides finishing which was lacking when Rotherham were well on top in the first 30 minutes.
"We had some glorious chances but the key is putting them away when you are on top but we didn't," he added.
"We then had a little warning when Andy Warrington made a great save so to then concede the way we did was disappointing."
