Steve Thornber ended his spell as Caretaker Manager with a win after Rotherham United dominated from start to finish to sink Barnet 3-0 at Don Valley Stadium.
Thornber took charge for the final time before Ronnie Moore takes the hot-seat and admitted he had enjoyed the experience:
"It has been fantastic, I have really enjoyed it and I think that the lads have taken to me," said Thornber.
"I have enjoyed the coaching; we did some work with the back four this week so it is pleasing that we have got a clean sheet today against a team that score goals."
Thornber continued: "It was a fantastic performance and I thought that the back four were absolutely magnificent. We did our homework; we knew that Barnet had pace in wide areas but Jamie Green and Dale Tonge snuffed out any danger from their wingers. We knew that we needed to stop the crosses and apart from a period just before our second goal I thought we did that.
"Today I felt that we stifled them in all departments. I think that Barnet thought that when they came here they might be able to steam roller us but we were thoroughly professional in all areas."
Thornber withdrew full back Dale Tonge in the second half following a head injury but revealed that he should be fine for the Millers trip to Northampton on Tuesday night:
"It was precautionary ahead of the game on Tuesday. We had already won the game so there was no point leaving him on, so he should be fine."
Ronnie Moore will be in the dugout for the trip to Northampton and Thornber is certain that the future is a bright one for the club.
"I have always said that we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season," he said.
"They are a good bunch of lads. We set targets when I first came in and if we can get something down at Northampton on Tuesday we will have met those targets."
