Rotherham United manager Steve Evans was delighted to see his side drawn at home in the First Round of the Capital One Cup.

The Millers will take on Cambridge United in their first meeting since 2001, as the two sides meet at AESSEAL New York Stadium in the opening round of the competition.

“The only thing that any manager wants in any cup draw is to be at home and there is no fitter place to be playing cup ties than AESSEAL New York Stadium.,” he explained.

“We’re delighted and honoured to be hosting Cambridge United who are a club that has an excellent manager in Richard Money and they had a fantastic season last year.”

Cambridge enjoyed their first season back in the Football League last term following promotion through the Vanarama Conference play-offs and Evans believes that the U’s can push on for another promotion and is looking forward to meeting them in the Capital One Cup.

“Richard has signed some players that will add to the quality they already have and which will see them challenging for promotion from League Two in the upcoming season.

“We’ll welcome them on the night and we know cup ties can be difficult but it’s something we’re looking forward to."
