Richie Smallwood's permanent deal now officially confirmed...

Rotherham United can confirm that Richie Smallwood’s emergency loan has now been made into a permanent transfer.

Smallwood joins the Millers from Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-year deal with the club.

The midfielder, who helped spearhead the Millers rise to The Championship last season, made his return to New York on Tuesday night in the defeat to Watford.

“I am delighted to be back and I am really hoping to get my career kick started,” Richie told www.themillers.co.uk

“Last season was a major success for the club and for me personally, I know I have come to a club with big ambitions and I am confident that with the players we have we can do well in this division.”

The Millers now travel to The Den for the Sky Bet Championship fixture with Millwall tomorrow, kick off 3pm.
