Defender leaves club...
Rotherham United have today agreed the release of defender Ian Sharps by mutual consent.
Sharps, 32, was signed by manager Steve Evans last summer, but spent the second half of the season on loan at Burton Albion. With the new season approaching, the Millers boss decided that due to a lack of playing time expected in the forthcoming campaign, it would be beneficial for all parties to allow him to further his career elsewhere.
“I would like to thank Ian for the effort and commitment he has given this club, and him and his young family will always be welcome as my guest at the New York Stadium.”
Everyone at Rotherham United would like to wish Ian all the best for the future.
